2017 Honda Pilot
Posted on by
The new 2017 Honda Pilot has been shown on the market as the fourth generation of the Pilot cars even the last one is still on the market. With that information, we surely expect completely redesigned car with some modifications in exterior look, cabin equipment and, of course, engine resolution. Still, don’t expect much more than on the current model, knowing that the factory hasn’t changed their other model for this year.
It seems that the Honda Pilot will be longer and wider car than the current model. Its aluminum body better shaped in order to increase speed and aerodynamic looks like Acura MDX. Being light weight, the new Pilot increased the speed and powertrain performances. Besides that, there are no much changes in exterior look, or at least not that we expected. Wider wheelbase provides aggressive and impressive front end with special lights and massive grille, but nothing much different than on other models. It seems that the engineers have put their attention on the engine and not on the body shape and design.
The inside of the 2017 Honda Pilot, on the other side, has undergone much more changes. The new design of the cabin together with more space (it’s larger and wider car than before, remember?) for passengers provides more comfort together with that. The cabin has new space in the second and third row for passengers’ shoulders and legs, but the new size allows more cargo space, especially with down rear seats. But, everything above is not important without infotainment and entertainment system which on the new Pilot means audio streaming, Bluetooth connectivity, touch exhibit sound, power attributes, cruise line control, air conditioning, a DVD amusement air conditioner, satellite radio, natural leather border, air, and heated front seats which some of them are offered only in higher trim versions.
The hood of the new 2017 Honda Pilot hides the strong 3.5-liter V6 engine with 300 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with a nine-speed computerized transmission with power on front wheels even the manufacturer has an option with the all-wheel driving system. The speed of 60 mph reaches for 8.9 seconds. The fuel economy is 18/25 mpg and towing capacity if it’s properly loaded approximately 5000 pounds. The engine has a special addition for heating and cooling which helps car driving through the mud and show.
