2019 Maserati Levante SUV will be the first electric sports car made in Maserati, together with Alfieri Concept, firstly shown at Auto Show in 2014. In case that you are not informed, Sergio Marchionne, the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) said once that he was hoping that people will not by electric cars in the future since the real ones are ones with petrol engines. Well, times change and Marchionne, as well as designers in Fiat, has realized that things must be different. As electric cars became so popular and wanted in past few years, old manufacturers must keep the step with the market, making electric cars for every driver. However, as this powertrain is not represented yet, we will stick to the models we know, and that is a petrol and diesel versions.
It is not expected that 2019 Maserati Levante SUV will be changed from the last model significantly. There is still an impressive mesh front grille, with bi-xenon LED lights and LED line on the top of them as daylight. On the bottom of the front bumper is wide mesh air intake wider on sides of the bumper. The rear end is crossover-like rounded, with modern rear lights and wide metallic bottom with two doubled exhausts on the sides.
Everything in the cabin of 2019 Maserati Levante SUV looks luxury and elegant, including leather on the seats and quality plastic on the dashboard. In terms of technology, there is large 7.0-inch touchscreen and special Maserati Touch Control Plus (shortly MTC+). There will be numerous high-tech toys but also the old equipment, like improved climate control.
As we said, there should be offered a plug-in hybrid version of 2019 Maserati Levante SUV, but before that happen, we can describe only a petrol and diesel unit. Petrol version has 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo or diesel engine. The strength of those engines goes from 250 horsepower to 450 horsepower. Depending on strength, the engine increases the speed for 5.1 or 6.9 seconds.
2019 Maserati Levante SUV Release Date and Price
As we said, 2019 Maserati Levante SUV will be only the first model in this factory which will get an electric engine and the second is Alfieri Concept, planned to be revealed in 2020. Those two cars represent the future of the electric engines on the roads, so we should be prepared for their showing on Auto Shows. There are high chances that Levante will not cost much different from the last model, which is around $75,000 for the base model.
