2017 Lamborghini Centenario
Posted on by
Recently unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Auto Show, the 2017 Lamborghini Centenario is a birthday present for the founder Ferruccio Lamborghini “a man who created an exceptional brand, believed that anything was possible, and produced extraordinary, iconic cars” as the President and CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann, put it. This year would have been the founder’s 100th birthday and how better to celebrate this fact than creating a futuristic-looking and powerful sports car that would make the Italian manufacturer proud. What makes this car even precious is company’s decision to produce only 40 models in total.
Exterior and Interior
My first thought when I looked at the aerodynamic exterior of the 2017 Lamborghini Centenario was that Batman sure have one of these in his batcave. If you look closely and from a right angle, the protruding half of the hood is carved in a shape of a bat. This car definitely looks mysterious, dangerous and powerful. The menacingly shaped headlights are beautifully integrated into the sloping nose. The finned air vents and enormous splitter at the front are sharply shaped, but there are not just for show. They help create downforce and pin this car to the ground at higher speeds, too. The side is enhanced with yellow side skirts and huge air vents placed in front of the rear wheels. The most noticeable feature at the back is humongous diffuser with three rounded tailpipes embedded in the middle. The beefy decklid, nicely outlined with arrow-shaped taillights, has its own air vent. Yellow accents are sprinkled throughout and in combination with black carbon fiber body, make the car look dangerous and vibrant.
The owners of the Centenario will enjoy the interior wrapped in sea of Alcantara. That means everything from sport seats, dashboard, steering wheel to door panels and roof. The rest, like steering wheel spokes and center stack, is carbon fiber. The dashboard is jazzed up with an attractive and useful digital instrumental panel. The creators boosted the central console, too. The control buttons has a futuristic vibe, while the 10.1-inch touchscreen at the top is user-friendly and fuss-free.
The head turner Lamborghini Centenario comes with awesome independent shifting rod transmission and robust V12. Its output measures impressive 770 horsepower.
