2017 Infiniti Q60 News and Price
Posted on by
The 2017 Infiniti Q60 came to the 2016 Detroit Auto Show as a production coupe based on the concept which has been around since the early 2015. Although not quite as radical in styling as the concept, the production car has retained plenty of cues to set it apart from the G37 coupe it is supposed to replace. Moreover, it brings revised suspension, as well as a refreshed powertrain with an all-new lineup of engines which will replace the naturally-aspirated 3.7-liter V6.
The model has also grown slightly in size with the overall length getting an additional 0.7 inch and the width 1.0 inch, while the wheelbase remains the same 112.2 inches. The height has also shrunk by almost half an inch. This, as well as the wheel arches riding quite low to the wheels, makes the coupe feature a low and wide stance, which, in addition to the 50-50 weight distribution between the front and rear wheels, adds to a much improved and more sporty handling The interior is basically carried over from the Q50 sedan, and this may be just about any drawback with the upcoming Q60. Of course, one may also lament the absence of a manual transmission, instead of which you get a drive-more selector with no fewer than six options.
Exterior and Interior
The 2017 Infiniti Q60 has one of the sharpest designs in the coupe segment on par with anything in the BMW 4 Series or Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The front is most reminiscent of the concept with a large mesh grille with a chrome trim and thin headlamps, while the fog lamps come with a black and chrome finish. The sweeping lines on the hood and fenders, which hug new wheels that also come in 20-inch premium option. The raked windshield and two door arrangement round out the profile, while the rear glass, albeit not as steeply raked as on the concept, compliments nicely the clipped rear, featuring a remolded diffuser and rounded tail pipes. The deck lid includes a perky spoiler, while the snake-eye stylized taillights cut into the trunk lid.
The interior is not quite as fresh as the exterior styling with a tall center stack including a touchscreen infotainment and controls layout. The new three-spoke steering wheel also has controls mounted right on top. The cabin comes with an upgraded noise cancelation and sound insulation system, offering an optional 13-speaker Bose audi system. Safety features list such features as Blind Spot Intervention, Around View Monitor and Forward Emergency Braking with pedestrian detection, to name just a few.
The 2017 Infiniti Q60 comes with brand new turbo charged engines ranging from 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 208 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, to a 3.0-liter V6 good for 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet, to the same V6 with an upgraded 400 horses and 350 pound-feet of twist power output.
The fuel ratings are 24 mpg combined for the four-cylinder and 23 mpg and 22 mpg for the V6s. The transmission is a 7-speed automatic with the Drive Mode Selector.
